FX's initial urge to make music came about
after reading an article on Urban Shakedown
using Amiga 500's to produce 'Some Justice'.
From this FX began to learn about music
technology and completed a studio
engineering course.
Taking what he learnt at college FX set up
his own studio at home and began turning out
the type of tunes that he wanted to play.
His inspiration when he makes tunes are the
sounds coming from labels like Virus and
Ram, producers like Digital and Swift, as
well as early nineties techno.
As a regular customer at Bitin' Back
Records, FX mentioned to Ollie he was
producing a few tunes. After passing on a
DAT of his material to Ollie and Nicol, they
quickly came back to him saying that they
wanted his tunes to start a new label,
Direct Recordings!!
Since his debut on Direct, FX has gone on to
release Acid Test / Tunnel Vision on the
Mindrush label and is currently in the
studio getting some fresh beats together.
